MWJA Launches New Chapters Across Three Continents

8 December 2025

Alhamdulillah! This December marks a historic milestone for our movement. After months of planning, training, and building, MWJA is officially launching new chapters across three continents. The wave of justice is no longer a ripple — it’s becoming a tide.

The New Chapters

Toronto, Canada —

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan: Serving Muslim women across the Prairies, the Saskatoon chapter focuses on building foundational sisterhood, accessible Islamic education, and community support in a growing Muslim population.

Scarborough, Ontario: Rooted in one of the most diverse Muslim communities in Canada, Scarborough’s chapter emphasizes grassroots organizing, youth engagement, and inclusive spaces for women of all backgrounds.

Mississauga, Ontario: Located in the heart of the GTA, the Mississauga chapter centers mentorship, professional development, and consistent spiritual programming for Muslim women at every stage of life.

Hamilton, Ontario: A community-focused chapter dedicated to tarbiyah, mutual care, and strengthening local networks of Muslim women through study circles and service.

London, Ontario: Bridging campus and community life, the London (ON) chapter supports Muslim women navigating academic, professional, and personal growth through faith-centered programming.

United Kingdom —

London, UK: Bringing together sisters from across cultures and backgrounds, the London chapter focuses on scholarship, leadership development, and community organizing within a global Muslim hub.

Germany —

Frankfurt: Establishing a strong presence in Europe, Frankfurt’s chapter centers Muslim women’s identity, leadership, and connection through education and sisterhood.

Malaysia —

Kuala Lumpur: Expanding into Southeast Asia, the Kuala Lumpur chapter emphasizes spiritual growth, learning, and regional connection among Muslim women.

Online —

Global Online Chapter: Connecting sisters across regions through virtual programming, study circles, mentorship, and collaborative learning opportunities.

What This Means for the Movement

Each chapter isn’t just a local group — it’s a cell in a growing body of justice. Our chapters operate on three principles:

Autonomy with alignment — Each chapter has the freedom to address local needs while remaining rooted in MWJA’s core mission and Islamic principles.

Leadership development — Every chapter is a training ground for future leaders. We’re not just building events; we’re building women who will shape the ummah for generations.

Mutual support — When one chapter succeeds, we all learn. When one chapter struggles, we all rally. This is what sisterhood looks like at scale.

The Numbers Tell the Story

In just six months, we’ve grown from a vision to a reality spanning four countries. Here’s what we’re celebrating:

Over 300 sisters have formally joined our chapter network. Twenty-five women have completed our Wali (leadership) training program. Fifteen community events have been organized before our official launches. Three partnerships with established Islamic organizations are now in place.

How You Can Be Part of This

The wave is spreading, but we need more hands to carry it forward.

Join a chapter — If you’re in one of our new locations, reach out to become a member. If you’re elsewhere, let us know — your city could be next.

Become a Wali — Our leadership program is accepting applications for the next cohort. If Allah has given you skills in organizing, teaching, or community building, we want to develop them.

Support the work — Your donations directly fund chapter development, educational resources, and our growing team of dedicated sisters.

A Message from Our Founders

When we started MWJA, we were told Muslim women didn’t need another organization. We were told the community was saturated. We were told to wait.

But the sisters who reached out to us — from small towns and big cities, from campuses and communities, from converts and born Muslims — told us something different. They told us they were waiting for exactly this. A movement rooted in Islam. United for justice. Unapologetically bold.

To our new chapters: you are the answer to those sisters’ duas. You are the beginning of something that will outlast all of us. You are the wave.

Bismillah. Let’s make waves together.
